Responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of Cloud Data Platforms (CDP). Tasked with ensuring that all systems are running smoothly and resolving any issues that may arise. Work with IT and Data Engineering developers to understand support needed in CDP in terms of administration and management. This role requires deep understanding in the CDP architecture, Lakehouse concepts in AWS and workflow orchestration in Airflow.

Responsibilities:

• Performing operations tasks such as monitoring application performance over time or troubleshooting issues with production applications
• Collaborating with other members of the engineering team to identify platform support requirements
• Represent the Enterprise Data Office (EDO) in any projects requiring platform expertise
• Contribute to the Design and Implementation of SBC’s overall Data Strategy
• Plans and develops systems and procedures to improve the quality and efficiency of services and processes within CDP (e.g., administrative automations, log analysis, performance assessment)
• Support Platform requirements in pre-development phase (e.g., Data Restoration)
• Build automation to support product development and data analytics initiatives
• Performs other duties as assigned by management from time to time

Skills and Attributes:

• Technical/Functional Skills. Refers to the skills directly required for the competent performance of the job.
  • Database Systems (Oracle, MS SQL, etc.)
  • Scripting – Linux and/or PowerShell
  • Proficiency with administering AWS tech stack (EMR, EC2, Athena, S3, RedShift,
  • Proficiency with administering Airflow and GitLab
  • Experience in administering Talend Data Fabric (optional)
